Killer...

Howdy!  Check out these killer shades!  They're super vintage--from Jeremiah's grandpa's basement.  All I gotta say is: GREEN SHADES HOLLER!!!

Preview...

I normally hate jewelry.  In true Sonja form, however, I have a shiz-ton from the stage in my life where I had to have ALL of it.  Gimme Gimme Gimme.  If you know me well, you already know I go through these stages.  Nail polish?  The basic colors will not do; I must have ALL the colors.  Shoes?  A few pairs will not do; I must have ALL the shoes.
So, it's a shame that I have all this purdy jewelry sitting around when I no longer wear jewelry AT ALL.  You'll see on my fashion blog I'm the kind of girl who likes to have the clothes speak for themselves without all the jingle-jangle of jewelry distracting the eye.
Not one to stagnate, however, I went for the full granny pile-on look yesterday and I'm loving it with this dress.  I'll let you know when the look makes it to my fashion blog.  My fab photog and boyfrand, Jeremiah, is in Utah for an academic conference at the moment so no pictures until his triumphant return.

Weird...

I really love having my fashion focused blog, snow me white, but I also love sharing shitty mirror pictures of the weird outfits I throw on for days at home.  This was a day of cleaning and also the day Kelsey hooked me up with a shorter cut at Aveda Salon.  YEAH!

Hurr...

In case you read my last post and were freaked out, Mike's going to be okay.  I just know he's bummed and whenever someone you love is bummed, you feel the same feelings.

The last 48 hours in my life have been pretty awful as well.  I absolutely killed myself studying and getting caught up for a midterm in my Chaucer class yesterday.  I haven't studying so hard in... ever.  So, I sit down to look at the quotations my teacher chose for the test and slowly began to realize I didn't recognize most of them.  I answered as many questions as I could but I knew I'd failed with a capital F as soon as I'd turned it in.  For someone who's busted ass to get straight A's the past three semesters, I was pretty emotional about it.  There was no crying or shaking fists at the sky but GAH, I'm still pissed.

Shortly thereafter, my teacher sent the class an e-mail telling us we all performed pretty poorly and we would have the chance to redo the midterm.  Although I'm thankful for the second chance, my mind and body are still reeling from the first F-F-F-Failure of a midterm so I'm not too psyched about doing the whole thing over again.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,  after yesterday's hotmess, I was overjoyed to get a kickass haircut from my gurl, Kelsey, today.  There's something about getting yer hurr did that makes a girl feel rejuvenated.  The results are similar to my first short haircut but Kelsey has promised to get me closer and closer to Katie Holmes's shorty cut as the summer gets closer.

Shit...

Hair doesn't really matter at all.  I just found out mid post my brother got hurt and knowing him, anything impacting his outdoor activities will be a huge, huge bummer.  So, whatever about the hair, sending healing thoughts Mike's way.

Idol...

Katie Holmes is without a doubt my number one HAIR IDOL!  Yeah!  I don't so much like her with long hair but her short cuts inspired me to chop my own long locks a while back.  Here's the progression I loosely plan to follow as the summer months approach.
This last one is SO scary!  I have to remember it's just hair.

Butch...

This picture came to my attention earlier today which is strange because I just watched the movie for the first time a week ago.  Hot. Men. Riding. Horses.  I'm sure there's more to the movie but I think I'll need a second viewing to find out what that is.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Also, today was awesome.  I sat in on a lecture regarding the philosophy of social change and justice.  I asked a question which somehow garnered mad props from my professor.  I took a quiz.  I learned about Freud's stages of sexual evolution.  I googled Freud's grandson, Lucian Freud, as a refresher of his mad painting skills.  I got a second interview.  I wrote a killer paper.
Spring break is almost here.

Hat lady...

Sorry for the lull, ladies and gents.  If you've been keeping up on my other bloggy, you know I'm currently  knee deep in papers, presentations, reading and the memorization of 20 lines of OLD ENGLISH.  GAH!!!  I mean, what the hell kind of an assignment is that, right?  Oh well, it's actually my favorite class this semester... good ol' Chaucer.
Anywhoo, this post doesn't have any real motive or direction other than my half-ass apology above, a sort of "sorry I'm not sorry" appeal to you dear readers!  Here's a picture of the level of insanity my midterms and Jeremiah's finals have produced in our house:
When I get bored or frustrated with my own studies, I like to sneak up on Jeremiah in strange ways to completely disrupt his studies.  That's eight hats, folks!  And I know, best girlfriend ever.

Also, doesn't this remind you of the kids story about the man with all the hats????  I loved this story.

Productivity...

I've had the most productive day!!!
I've written two thank you notes, one letter, started another, e-mailed three professors, secured a job interview and begun the grueling task of cleaning my room.
Last night was equally satisfying.
Friends gathered for the grand occasion of Spencer's birthday.  The Ned Garthe Experience provided the killer tunes.  I wore a weird outfit, as per usual.  Happy times all around.  I'm looking forward to a repeat of last night's fun with Patrick's art exhibit and a Hindershot show tonight.  BOOM!
Here's my weird outfit for today.  As you can tell, the state of my room is horrendous.
