Straight Hurr...

I really wasn't crazy about the new haircut at first but I made some adjustments and now it's "okay."  I still don't quite know how to style it straight but this is the closest I've come to something I like.

Derby day...

Today is the first Saturday of May which means it's DERBY DAY!  I have such fond memories from making the trip with Russ last year.  I'm hoping to make it back to the Derby and Kentucky Oaks next year.  Here's a few pictures from last year.

Churchill Downs
 Cigars and mint juleps.
Russ, Kathy, Ray at Kentucky Oaks.
 Sillyz.
Derby time.  The sun came out for this race, and this race only.
They're off!  The sound of the crowd during the Derby is enormous.
 Calvin Borel on Super Saver.
 Derby 2010.
 So great!!
Next time I will wear a MUCH bigger hat.

NEW HURR...

Shop till you drop...

Did a little shopping yesterday before going out with the girls for the art walk on Santa Fe.  More pictures to come from the art walk but here's some of the loot from F21!!  My mom is in town today to help keep my life together until we leave Monday.  Everyone keeps asking if I'm SOSO excited to leave but I haven't had a moments rest to fully digest the upcoming trip so the answer is usually a, "Yeah, I guess so."  I think I'll just have to wait till I get off the plane in Paris for the excitement to hit.

Finals week...

I wanted to take a quick moment to reflect on my week thus far.
Monday afternoon I decided to start a 20 page paper due on Tuesday at 2pm.  The paper was especially difficult because I was writing a prose piece and being creative is so much more difficult (for me) than yer standard essays.
Anyway, I vow to never write 20 pages in 17 hours again because I was completely and totally wasted when I finished.
I was in such a daze Tuesday morning, I tripped on a curb on the way to my car and fell down in the middle of the street, smacking my face on the concrete.  My backpack and purse came down with me, or... on top of me, rather.  I wasn't hurt, exactly; and I would have died laughing if I was witness to the scene, but I had dirt in my lip gloss and everything.  I mean, REALLY??
Aside from writing my final in such a hurry, the reading of my piece went really well.  My teacher said it was the best I'd ever written and again, I was like, Really??
To celebrate, I snagged some dinner with my friend Kelsey at the Hornet, and then met up with my new roommate Adam.  Beers, arguing (already), and laughs were had.  We met up with Morgan briefly at the Squire and then headed home.
I have one more final this week and then after my final final on Monday, I'll be off to Chicago to fly to PARIS.  Nervous. Excited. Freaking out. And omg, what to wear!?
These are from last weekend.  Met up with Morg and friends at Charlie Browns.  Lolz.
Cute!  Morg has better pics.  I'll post later.
