Valentine...

There's a couple things one should note before viewing this Valentine's Day picture:
1.) I don't bake.  Ever.  People seem to find this strange... wait, you never bake?  At all??  That is correct.
2.)  Baked goods just aren't for me.  I hold nothing against baked goods, really.  My indulgence comes in the shape of soda pop, pizza or omg-yum bean dip, instead.
3.)  Jeremiah LOVES all baked goods with a deep fiery passion within his soul and sometimes I think he holds it against me when I decline all the cookies/cakes/yums he enjoys so much.
So, when Valentine's rolled around this year I figured I'd bake something.  Out of the box or not, Jeremiah was astonished and I may have had a bit of decorating fun myself.  Wins all around.

Treat yo self...

Holy buckets.  I'm the worst blogger ever.  Yup.
Anywhoo, here's some things that have been nice in my life as of late:
1. Rewatching Sex and the City episodes to wind down from stressful school days.
2. Nail painting with the girls.  (I went with Pink this time).
3. Reading the book House of Mirth is getting me psyched to be a student again.
4. Candles.
5. Shoe organizing (never gets old).
6. Coca Cola is delicious.
7. I get to hang out with my family on Saturday.  Bonnie, Michael, Weston, and Addy!!!!!!!!!
8. New roomie, Cha, bought me a special MUG!  It's red.  And beautiful.
9. Receiving Birchboxes from Lynde.
10. Watching the SNL video of Maya Rudolf as Beyonce and Justin Timberlake as Bon Iver putting himself to sleep.  CLASSIC.
Also, whenever I'm feelin' blue, I watch this video as a reminder to....

Haul...

Here's my fabulous bookstore haul from my birthday.  I've read a few of these but couldn't resist their sale price tags.  I think it's sweet that Jeremiah balances out my crazy by refusing to buy me clothes or shoes and insists on buying me books instead.
Where the Red Fern Grows is a childhood favorite.
Bad Dirt comes highly recommended by Jeremiah.  Annie Proulx is the author of the short story that eventually became Brokeback Mountain.
The Meadow, Rock Springs and Mohawk are three more Jeremiah suggestions.
I read The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao a few years ago and loved Junot Diaz's writing style.
One Hundred Years of Solitude is just a book I need to read.
I've read Freedom before and although I was royally pissed at the ending, I couldn't resist the $6.00 price tag.
SO, there ya have it.  BOOKS!!

Night...

Spring semester is the worst!!!  I'm taking the BEST classes but can't seem to get immersed into the material as fully as I was last semester.  Feck.  What I've been doing in the meantime is catching up on some lovely reads that are, of course, not required in any of my classes.  Feeck.  However poorly I normally feel about getting my undergrad in procrastination, the book I read last night transcended any and all self-laid guilt-trips and straight-up blew my socks off.
This books gets a 10/10 and should be read by everyone, everywhere.  The capacity for evil within all humans is staggering and I'll just leave you to read. this. book. to fully understand what I'm talking about.

Dr. Strangelove...

Oh my gosh.  Life is so strange.

I'd been planning to move out of the boyfrand's place for quite a while and was even all set to be a live-in nanny for an eight year old girl and her cute toddler brother.  I'd met the family and toured the place.  I was set to be hooked up in my favorite neighborhood with no living expenses and three or less nights of work per week.  Everything seemed perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But... then I turned down the offer.

It's strange how such a small gut feeling can drive some of life's most important decisions.
The feeling of relief I felt afterwards was all I needed to reaffirm my decision.

Best day ever??

Let me just tell you how awesome my day has been...
1. The Cherry Creek mall... I know, lame.  BUT!  Nine West had a pair of 70% off suede (!!) platforms that had to be mine.  So the saleslady found the last pair and ordered them just for me.  I'm the kind of crazy that stalks shoes online until they are at their very cheapest so I was extra psyched because these platforms are sold out online.  Score!
2. South Broadway: Jeremiah and I went to a number of little shops including the new Buffalo Exchange and Fancy Tiger.  Being the snob that I am, I thought the new Buff majorly sucked but it was fun to look around nonetheless.
3. We walked by Famous Pizza and had no choice but to go in and nom on the best pizza in Denver. [Exhibit A]
4. The main reason Jere and I even went to South Broadway was for him to find me a special book at a store called Mutiny Now.  But!  They were closed so we haadd to head to Tattered Cover.  [Exhibit B]  We came home with a major haul and I'm happy to say I've had the best birthday weekend thus far!!!
