Uh. Oh.

This is a test:  Based on the following photos, where have I been??
 Mismatched.
Fall colors.  Golden Charm, Plum Night,Vixen, Raven Red, and Tangerine.
Pullover, Timbleberry (ASHLEY!!), Under 18, and Envy.
If you guessed Walgreens... YOU ARE CORRECT!
So, I've been checking out a blog called Dulce Candy lately and along with her blog and fun youtube vids, her readership is truly impressive.  She has 29,000 blogger followers and 425,000 youtube subscribers!  DAMN!  I have 5 blogger followers:)  And I love them all!  Anyway, I bring her up because she makes videos of her "shopping hauls" and watching them is way too dangerous as it ignites my inner shopaholics in a fiery, fearsome, no-control explosion!  OH CRAP.  So, I head to Walgreens because I know I can't do too much damage with all the sales and cheap-o nail polish.  Rationalization at it's finest, folks.

Outfit preview...

Here's a preview of a couple outfits... along with a preview of my always messy room!

Housework Wednesday!

So, I know it's not Wednesday yet.... but all the trendster blogs have fancy features for the days of the week and I figured what better way to highlight the work Jeremiah's been doing than giving him a little blog feature each week.  AND what better way to motivate him to do more work, yo???  Especially considering I had to FORCE persuade him to work on the yard today.  Here are some pictures.

Our yard was truly unruly..... NOT OKAY.
Jere had already put down the yard fabric but the weeds creeped through the cracks like the earth monsters they are.  FREAK ME OUT!

 After the pulling and re-fabric-ing.
ME!  HELPING!
Ha!  Jk, this was all a set-up.  I did help with one out of the eighteen bags, though!
Finished the one side for today.
King of his castle.

Swamp...

Time for some late night ramblings from a busy bee:
1.  I've been crazy swamped as of late and although I get easily stressed and frustrated, I am SO enjoying the challenges of attending a new school and getting my life together.  OH FUN!!!!
2.  I'm taking a course on Homer and Virgil, another on American and British Lit, and my absolute fav with Phil Jo (EVA!!) called African American Lit... among two others which are lame.
3.  Jeremiah's been cleaning the whole house like a mothah!!!  It's been amazing.  Clean things make me smile but also ensure my stress levels will stay low-ish.
4.  Michelle stayed with Jere and I for four days before school started and we had some really fun/really random times.  My favorite night we wheedled our way into Beta Nightclub by using some sketchy intel we'd received earlier in the night....  and by that I mean, we said we knew a girl to bypass the $25 cover and dance the night away Jersey Shore style.  You better believe I was fist pumping!!  [Meredith will appreciate this..]  I also got into a small fist-to-face altercation with some sweaty guy for his inappropriate grazing which somehow always reminds me of Iowa City.  It went like this: Graze-->SMACK!-->Dirty look-->Run away!!!!  No wonder clubbing isn't a weekly outing for me!
5.  Let's see, what else??  J and I started THE WIRE.  I suggest everyone else do the same.
I'm out of here for some late night homework!!!
Also... nerdy outfit on the first day of school??  Check.

On the fringe...

I've had one helluva week so far full of high highs and the lowest of the lows.  As far as the highs go, my dear friend Michelle is visiting for the weekend and I've been having a blast with her thus far.  I've known her since I was a kid but we've had so much to catch up on.  I'm just so happy she chose to come to Denver for a visit!  Here's an outfit I wore to the movies tonight.  Horrible Bosses was the perfect pick-me-up movie and I'd recommend it to anyone but my grandma!  That Jennifer Aniston is a hoot.

Oh, snazzy!  This shirt was easy to style as I have a lot of Native American (real and inspired) jewelry.  I added the gray shirt because I like the contrast in sleeve length and MOVIE THEATERS ARE COLD, YO!
I recently cut some super long, yucky looking shorts into fresh cut-offs!
[FAKE] Native American jewelry via Monet and Urban Outfitters.
[REAL] Native American jewelry via Jeremiah.
OH BOY!  These shoes are heavenly.  I bought them years ago in St. Louis while on vacation with Lynde.  The gladiator plus fringe combo made my heart stop and they are still one of my favorite pair of shoes.  These are concrete proof of love at first sight!
My nail polish combo is a bit of a hot mess this week as a result of Walgreens browsing.  Not too shabby looking with this outfit, though, huh?
And here's the finished look.  Quite simple but with just the right combo of layers, bling and a bangin shoe... my favorite kind of outfit.

Yays...

I talked to my friend Russ today and realized some congratulations are in order... not only for him but for many of my other close friends.  In no particular order:
1.  Russ has reached his 1 year anniversary in Austin and seems to be thriving more than ever.
2.  Eva is starting college in Amsterdam.  I'm so happy for her there are few words.  Meant to be.
3.  Morgan and I sipped on bottomless mimosas the other day in celebration of her new life in North Carolina.  Celebration was also in order for FINALLY seeing each other again after so long!  SOO EXCITED MORG.
4.  Jackie is living the life with her honey in Portland.
5.  Meredith got her internship and it seems totally fab!!
6.  My girl, Lynde, is 23 TODAY and I'm oh-so-jealous of her youth.
7.  Adam has completed some serious biz and shaved his beard as symbol of his new life.  Very proud.
8.  And last but not least... I didn't realize until Russ brought up his anniversary but as of August 9th, 2011,  I'VE LIVED IN DENVER, COLORADO FOR TWO YEARS!!  I can say without a doubt that moving to Denver has been the best decision and greatest experience of my entire life.  Thanks to everyone who has made my new life so special and congrats to these fine folks as well!!

Hoarders...

All I have to say about the show Hoarders is...
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm cleaning out my closet IMMEDIATELY!!!
And I can't watch that show anymore because it's giving me a panic attack.
Time to clean EVERYTHING.
Poor Jeremiah will have to deal with psycho cleaning lady for the next few days.
Any girls who read this blog should let me know if you want any clothes/shoes/jewelry because it's going to goodwill STAT.
I have been shocked and scared to my very core.
I don't ever want to be a hoarder!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brights...

Here's another simple summer outfit with the same hippie-dippie jewelry as the last post.  A little bright, no??

Sunnies&Shorts: F21  Shirt: Walmart?  Purse: Zara  Shoes: Nine West

And this is Jeremiah's take on style blogging.  He's a special boy...
EXCITING NEWS FOR SONJA:  I'm all signed up for school and couldn't be more psyched to be headed to UCD for English.  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dress up...

Playing dress up is the best.  I get a bit bummed out lately because I have NO extra money to spend right now. I know the money situation is entirely my fault but based on my shoe closet alone, many of you know I take great pleasure in shopping.  Even though I've mastered the art of extreme thrift shopping by now, I don't even have the cash for a fab $6 summer dress, necklace, or whatevah...  Sooooo, what to do, what to do??  SHOP MY CLOSET, that's what.  Even if I'm just playing with new combos of jewelry, it's been fun getting creative with limited stuff to work with.  Perhaps even more fun than blowing all my money on the latest and greatest... perhaps.

Most of these are from back when I lived in Iowa and was working at Victoria's Secret.  That was my prime money-blowin' stage and it makes me shudder to think how much was spent on jewelry, Vickies and of course, SHOES.  The skull and crossbones necklace was a lucky find on the ground and the promise ring I added is just another way of giving Jeremiah a hard time.  :)

I bought these shoes for my last day of high school.  No idea on brand.

Sunnies&Shorts: F21  Necklaces: Monet and found  Shirt: Walmart  Shoes: Express  Purse: Thrifted NW for $1

The belt was given to me by Jere's mom Debbie.

I wore less jewelry this day as too much is just too heavy.

This night was quite fun.  Jere and I went to dinner with my Dad, brothers and Addy and explored Fort Collins in all it's glory.  We walked past the Drunken Monkey and ahh.... MEMORIES.

JEREMIAH CUT MY HAIR OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He did pretty alright, huh??  Kelsey is going to laugh when she sees the back but no worries for now.  I had a lot of fun watching Jeremiah stress out over his "technique" and can always get the back fixed later.  He's so great!

Package...

About a week ago, I was having the absolute worst day ever.  I was having a major freak-out moment.  A moment where I realized a person from my past no longer wishes to be a part of my life.  DRAMATIC, I know.  But!  I had a frank talk with Russ in which he snapped me out of my mopes and then moments after the tough-love talk received the sweetest package in the mail from EVA.  Best. Timing. Ever.  My day did a complete one-eighty because of the tough-love and love-love and I have you both to thank.
If you're curious about the Lucky Strikes, it's a little inside joke between Eva and Jeremiah.  Silly Smokers.

Crush...

It's time for me to crush some spirits... including my own!!  I am no longer coming back to Iowa for a week.  Ugh.  Long story short, I need to take care of some school stuff and I need to take care of my broke-ass car I didn't know was broke till yesterday.  There's really no bright side.
But! I am extremely excited to get back to school and be done with my laze of a summer.  I'm just not productive when I don't have anything on my plate.  At this point.... I NEED SCHOOL.  And volunteering and a job and choir and more horseback riding and hiking and climbing and skiing and something, ANYTHING to get me out of the rut I've been in this summer.  With that said, here are some pictures of the much needed 15 mile hike my roommate and I took a couple weeks ago:
Mills Lake.
Taking in the mountains.

The last few miles were extremely treacherous as we were forced to trudge through thick snow.  I fell through the slush multiple times.
Wow, that was fast. At the end of our journey.  Frozen lake.
This is my roommate, Adam.  And my other roommate, THE BEARD.
Being goofy.  But seriously, it was cold up there.
So happy but already feeling the wear on my legs.
Adam at the top of the world.
 Snow Snow Snow Snow.

 These planks are fun.
I have an irrational fear of mountain lions and even got in a tiff with Adam because he left me alone hiking for 30 minutes.  I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!!!!!!  But instead I found this animal darting around the trail.
Me.
This hike was special because my brothers and I completed the hike years ago when none of us lived in Colorado yet.  The trip brought back a lot of memories but most of all, I was happy to have handled the strenuous hike much better this time.
