Holler-ween...

Halloween.  I always dream big when it comes to Halloween.  I dream of sewing my own costume... the most clever costume in the universe; the kind people talk about for years.  I make all these plans.  I could use felt! and glitter! and glue-gun little colored jewels EVERYWHERE!!!!!
But.  I always forget.  Until it's Halloween.
So this is what happens:
I find a little hat from a store, dress in all black and call it good:)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Swan Lake...

OH MY STARS!!!!!!  Jeremiah and I went to the last showing of Swan Lake at the Center for Performing Arts in Denver on Sunday and I couldn't have been more pleased.  The first time Jeremiah and I experienced legit ballet we were a little... disappointed.  We saw Romeo and Juliet last year and being used to modern entertainment, I think we were just expecting something more to happen.  I remember Jeremiah leaning over in his cushy seat and saying in an hushed whisper, "They don't say anything!?"  That's a negative.

BUT!  We both enjoyed Swan Lake so much more so for the elevated music, dancing and beautiful costumes.  I say elevated because literally every aspect of Swan Lake was better than Romeo and Juliet. One of the best parts of the day was feeling like a princess in my "ballet dress" and eating at a fav restaurant, The Corner Office.  The dancers from the show started trickling in to celebrate their last show midway through our meal so I got to gawk while Jeremiah watched football.  Perfect.
And here are the pictures:
Firstly, let's all just scope out this man-candy:
And here is what I wore:

A couple-a black swans:
 I was really SO excited!

Details:
Jeremiah wore one of his Calvin Klein suits, a Perry Ellis shirt and tie, and some brand of shoes IDK from Macy's.
I wore a thrifted Target dress, Zara pumps, and a Topshop clutch via Eva.  I didn't wear any jewelry because I wanted my shoes to be the focal point.  I did, however, coordinate my red nails and lipstick because I felt like being all fancy.  I pulled my hair back in a "simple bun" which really just amounted to a thousand bobby pins in my head but overall, I felt like a princess and that was all that mattered.
OH YAY BALLET!

Iowa football...

I wouldn't normally celebrate Iowa football here in Colorado but Kelsey insisted I join her in celebrating ONE game... so, that is what we did for the Iowa vs. Northwestern game.  We went to the Denver Sports Column and I was in awe of the mass of Iowa fans.  I honestly didn't realize there were so many people from Iowa in Denver.  It was surreal.  Kelsey and I had an EPIC night downtown and based on the next morning, one night of Iowa football crazy is all I need per season!!

Transition...

This was written last week:
I can't wait for this week to be OVER.  And by this week I mean get me past my big test on Thursday and on to sipping 'tinis at Beauty Bar with some gals.  I've just been so behind in this one class and now it has come down to reading all of Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad in one day.  I must just love to torture myself.
Anywhoo, just a short gripe today so I can post a favorite transition outfit I've worn constantly during the unusual heat of September and October.  Love/hate me some Denver weather!!

OH YA GET EXCITED!!

Here are the top 10 things I'm excited about right now:
1.) My mom is coming for a short visit next week.
2.) Jeremiah and I are going to buy a BETTA FISH!!  A yellow one.  And we shall call him Lancelot.  This is seemingly random but I'm taking a Biology course and we worked with Betta fish in our lab today and I've fallen in love.  With fish.  Only with Bettas though; the others are fugly.
3.)  THE BALLET!  J and I will be going to Swan Lake sometime in the upcoming weeks which means I will get to debut my "ballet dress."  So excited.
4.)  Iliff picnic.  This is more something Jeremiah is excited about but I'm looking forward to meeting all the professors he talks about so much at his grad school's picnic.
5.)  Thanksgiving.  My family will be in town.  Jeremiah's family will be in town.  It shall be grand.
6.)  Getting a job.  I want to get a job either as a writing tutor or little kid watcher.  That sound creepy; let me rephrase:  I want to be a babysitter.  I miss having little kids around.  The only ones I know now are my professors kids and that would be too weird to be like "hey, can I babysit yer kids???"
I like kids.  They view the world in an inspiring way.
7.)  Lipstick.  And lipgloss.  And EOS chapstick.
8.)  The Mountains.  I miss being cold so J and I will be headed there ASAP.  We've been needing a break from Denver anyway.
9.)  New furniture.  Just as soon as I get some cash-flow flowin' I'll be channeling my inner-most thrift-master and decorating some of the rooms in the house.  The most exciting room in my opinion will be the "shoe, clothing, make-up, project runway marathon and martini room (girls only)."  OH FUN!!
10.)  School.  School is the best and if I could be a student for the rest of my life I would.  Becoming a teacher is the closest way I can come to staying in school for forever and I love the progress I've made thus far.

Moments...

I hate having pictures slip through the cracks so this kind of post is perfect to share all those random moments.  Spencer said to me the other night, "Girl, you will take a picture of anything!" and it's true!  I have such a horrible memory I feel like I need to capture things on film and blog blog blog so these memories don't escape out my ears.  SO, for your viewing pleasure...

This is from right after I got back to the states from Italy.  This is my super stylish friend, Meredith.  I'm kinda obsessed with her necklace right here.
This is a whole group of picture I forgot to post from July??  Botanic Gardens with Adam and Ashley!!!
I had never been... we had such a fantastic time!

Hairy tree!!!  Adam and I liked this one.

 Fourth of July!!
I'm wondering if this was the same day as Botanic Gardens as we're wearing the exact same outfits...  curious.
J and I had the best seats ever.

More Fourth fun... Bocce ball in Cheeseman park.

Before Shane and Mike's bday party!
 This was before Beauty Bar.
 Kels and me at Beauty.
Jeremiah's first day of grad school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, for good measure.

Our house at night (and progress on the front yard) with our Fantastic Mr. Fox who always visits.
Sun Red (Jeremiah's old band) at the Skylark.
Speaking of lost pictures.... I promise to someday share my photos from Europe.  It was such an unbelievable month of my life that I'm still digesting... and let's be honest, I'm a bit intimidated by the MASS of photos:)

Preview...

I was pretty psyched about this outfit as I combined my favorite yellow hat and the new Levi's shirt Jeremiah bought for me.  He's never bought ANY clothes for me... but said this shirt was "too cute" not to buy.  YAY!  Sorry it looks like I spat all over my mirror!  I didn't, swearsies!!!

Movies...

Jere and I have needed some relief from the serious subjects we've been learning about in school lately so we've turned to "kids" movies for laughs....  These three have been the best thus far.
