Judgement...

Holy judgement!  I thought people came to college with the intention of opening their minds to new and unfamiliar ways of thinking but all I heard in my Race and Ethnicity in American Lit class today was the rigidity and hostility of my classmates' personal beliefs.  How can people expect to grow and open their minds if they are voluntarily stuck in the mud.  The judged judge the judged judge the judged just as I judge the judging.  What a cycle, what a world.  I just wish the rigidity of people's personal opinions didn't create an ever-present sense of self-righteousness with that sweet stink of superiority.  People shouldn't come to class if the only opinion they're interested in is their own.  Stay home and write in yer friggin' diary!  Just kidding, keep coming to class so I can come home and cry about it in my blog!!!  EEEE!!

Anywhoo!!  We just finished this book and it resonated with me in so many ways.  Mostly in regards to the chitter-chatter that is oh-so common in many (all?) cultures including our own.  Going back to judgement; the book made me wonder why people are so quick to chew people up and spit them out despite having such limited perspectives.  WHY!?  Whatevs, I do the same thing!  The point is, "Their Eyes Were Watching God" puts a mirror in front of readers' faces and forces them to take a good hard look.  "Just look at it!!"  In other news, I LOVE COLLEGE!
